A bag that took 4 days to make and will last you years.

This large handwoven market tote is made by Kathir and Padmini, a couple from the South Indian town of Kanchipuram. They hand-knot each bag in their spare hours after their day jobs, using recycled plastic wire - a material that is strong, washable, and keeps plastic out of landfill.

The pattern is named - "Lemon Sherbet"

The streets of Indian cities are dotted with small carts filled with sodas and sherbets. They are often decorated brightly & have rows of green goli soda bottles, topped with fresh lemons & an assortment of jewel toned sherbet bottles standing in solidarity as if to announce their purpose.

Just the sight of them brings a sense of instant relief & a promise of something cool and refreshing is at arms length. For the common man, these sherbet carts have always been an elixir to survive Indian summers.

This basket carries that same feeling. Fresh, bright, and unmistakably summery -
    Lemon Sherbet
